Standard Battle Clauses

STANDARD CLAUSES

These are the clauses that are used during Pokemon battles on this site. They are standard among competitive forums and unless otherwise noted are used. If you would like to have battles that don't follow one of these rules that is fine but only when you and your opponent agree to them and you are not competing in a forum hosted event (ex. the Gym Challenge)


Evasion Clause
Moves that boost evasion (i.e. Double Team and Minimize) are not allowed. *Acupressure is allowed due to it being a random chance to increase evasion*

Sleep Clause
Only one Pokémon on a team can be asleep at any one time. Self-induce sleep via rest does not activate Sleep Clause.

OHKO Clause
One-Hit KO moves are not allowed. This is due to the ability to completely turn a match around by one lucky hit by a 30% accuracy.

Species Clause
You can only use one of any Pokémon on your team. (ex. having 2 Shuckle is illegal)

Self KO Clause
If both players have only one Pokémon left, moves which KO both the user and the opponent are not allowed (ex. Explosion, Destiny Bond). If recoil damage would cause a tie, Self KO Clause does not activate, and the player who last attacked is the winner.

New Item Clause
All Pokémon on a team must hold different items, except 2 leftovers can be used due to most teams having multiple tanks. If it only says Item clause then only 1 of any item can be used.

Uber Clause
Pokemon in the Uber tier are not to be used unless otherwise stated.
